Minor in Elementary Mathematics Education (23)

This minor is available only to undergraduates majoring in elementary education. Students interested in pursuing the minor in elementary mathematics education should consult with an advisor in the Department of Mathematical Sciences before the end of the sophomore year. Transfers and postbaccalaureate students seeking a degree in elementary education should consult with an advisor on arrival. The Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) requires that students must have passed all the MATH and STAT courses applicable to their minor in Mathematics Education with a grade of C or better.

A minimum GPA of 2.25 in all courses counted for credit toward the minor numbered above MATH 201 is required.

Six or more semester hours in the minor must be taken at NIU.
